Fire Detection Methods
Smoke
Optical smoke alarm sensor, (commonly called a smoke alarm) works using the light scatter principle. The alarm contains a pulsed Infrared LED which pulses a beam of light into the sensor chamber every few seconds to check for smoke particles.
Heat
Heat detectors are designed to respond when the thermal energy of a fire increases in temperature. The heat sensitive element of the sensors element regulates the rate flow of heat into the element to give a thermal lag to prevent false alarms.
Carbon Monoxide
The potential dangers of carbon monoxide are greatest when you’re asleep. Every home with a fuel-burning appliance/heater, attached garage or fireplace should have a carbon monoxide alarm
All fire detectors are always on, monitoring around the clock and ready to alert you to the dangers with a loud internal sounder, external sounder and external flashing strobe should there be a problem.
